Sarasota,Florida–AbabyowlfelloutofitsnestlastweekonWashingtonBoulevard.Thebirdgothelpfrompeopleatabirdsanctuary.Asanctuaryisaplacewhereanimalsarekeptsafe.WorkersatthePelicanManBirdSanctuarytreatedthebirdattheirhospital.Thentheyreturnedthebirdtoitsnest. 　　Thebabyowlfell40feet.Luckily,itwasnothurtbadly.Workersatthehospitalfedthebird.Theykeptitwarmandsafe.Thetinyowllookedlikeafluffywhiteball.Itseyeshadnotopenedyet. 　　Theworkersaskedatreeservicetohelpthemputthebirdbackinitsnest.Thetreeserviceusedacranewithalongneck.Amancarefulputthebabyowlback.Theworkersthinktheotherbabymighthaveaccidentallypushedthebabybirdoutofitsnest. 　　Theteamwentbackaftertwodaystocheckonthebabyowl.Itsparentswerefeedingandtakingcareofit.Thebabyowlwassafe. 　　ThesanctuarywasstartedbyDaleShields.Dalewascalledthe“PelicanMan”becauseatfirstheonlyhelpedpelicans.Laterheandhishelpersstartedsavinganyanimalinneed.Sofartheyhavehelpedbirds,deer,raccoons,bats,foxes,bobcats,turtles,andfrogs. 　　Wildanimalsgethurtinmanyways.Waterbirdsareinjuredwhentheygettangledinfishinglines.Animalsarealsohitbycarsorboats.Waterandlandpollutionhurtsanimals,too.Manyoftheanimalsthesanctuaryhelpsareendangered.Theworkerswanttohelpmakesuretheanimalsdon’tdieout. 　　Peoplecallthesanctuarywhentheyseeahurtbirdorotherwildlife.Sanctuaryworkersgotopickuptheanimal.Thentheytaketheanimaltothehospital.Theirworkhelpsmanyanimalssurvive. 　　Halfoftheanimalsthesanctuaryhelpsarereturnedtothewild.Otheranimals,likeMoe,needspecialcare.Moeisaswanwhowasattackedbyadog.Itlostoneofitswings,soitcan’tfly.Today,Moeandotheranimalslikehimliveatthesanctuary.
