CokeisIt!andNewCoke 　　Inearly1982,Coca-Colalaunchedanewadcampaign,"CokeIsIt!,"withanemphasisontheproduct'squalitiesoftasteandrefreshment.Thedirect,positivestatement"CokeIsIt!"wasmeanttoappealtotheforthrightmoodofAmericansinthe1980s."CokeIsIt!"playedonthemesofpreviousadcampaigns,stressingthequality,theenjoyment,andespeciallytheanticipationofdrinkingaCoca-Cola. 　　Ironically,theintroductionof"newCoke"demonstratedinunexpectedwaysthatafterninety-nineyears,CokehadindeedbecomepartofthetapestryofAmericanlife.WhenTheCoca-ColaCompanyintroducedanewtasteforCokeinNorthAmericain1985,televisionadvertisinghelpedlaunchit.Thepublic,however,demandedthereturnofthetraditionaldrink,sovehementlythatthecompanywasobligedtobringitback–renamedas"Coca-Colaclassic."
