从1930年发现冥王星开始,人们都认为它是太阳系的第九个行星.但是冥王星和其他的行星不一样.冥王星更小,并且轨道更独特.8月24日,有科学家称“冥王星并不是行星”.
大约2500位科学家在布拉格举行会议.最初,一些科学家认为太阳系可能存在12个行星.最终,科学家决议太阳系中只存在金星,水星,地球,火星,木星,土星,天王星和海王星.这些行星每个都有自己的轨道,而且足够大.冥王星的轨道和海王星的轨道交叠而且比其他的行星小.所以冥王星被分类为矮行星,不再是太阳系中的行星.在校学生将会用新教材来学习新的太阳系.
