OrdinaryJapaneseschoolsusuallyhaverulesabouteverythingfromthelengthofstudents’hairtotheirclothesandthingsintheirschoolbags.Childpsychologistsnowthinkthatsuchstrictrulesoftenleadtoafeelingofbeingunsafeandbeingunabletofitintosociety.Theybelievethatnosenseofmoral(道德)valuesisdevelopedandthatstudentsaregivenneitherguidancenortraininginbecominggoodcitizens.
