Asuccessfuloperation 　　ThemummyofanEgyptainwomanwhodiedin800B.Chasjusthadanoperatain.ThemummyisthatofSephenmutwhowasonesingerintheTempleofThebes.AstherewerestrangemarksontheX-rayplatestakenofthemummy,doctorshavebeentryingtofindoutwhetherthewomandiedofararedisease.Theonlywaytodothiswastooperate.Theoperation,whichlastedforoverfourhours,provedtobeverydifficultbecauseofthehardresincoveredtheskin.Thedoctorsremovedsectionofthemummyandsentittoalaboratory.TheyalsofoundsomethingwhichtheX-rayplatesdidnotshow:awaxfigureofthegodofDuamutef.Thisgodwhichhasheadofacowwasnormallyplacedinsideamummy.Thedoctorhavenotyetdecidedhowthewomandied.Theyfaredthatthemummywouldfalltopieceswhentheycutitopen,butfortunatelythishasnothappen.Themummysuccessfullysurvivedtheoperation.
