Theiceglaciersonthemountainaredisappearingveryquickly.Thiswillhaveabadeffectonthemountain'secosystemsandonTanzania'stravelindustry.Alsoavaluablerecordofthousandsofyearsofweatherhistorywillalsobelostiftheicemelts.Scientistsstudypiecesofglaciertounderstandweatherpatternsfromthousandsofyearsago.
IntheUnitedStatestheicymassesinGlacierNationalParkinMontanamaysooncompletelydisappearbecauseofclimatechange.In1850therewereanestimated150glaciersinthemorethan400000hectarepark.
