Theprogramoffers，millionsofgirlsafirst-handviewofthemanycareeropportunitiesavailableintheirfutures．Nowthatwomenmakeup46percentoftheU．S．workforce，girlscanfindrolemodelsineveryoccupationalfield-frompoliticstomolecularbiologytoprofessionalathletics，tonamejustafew．TODencouragesgirlstofocusontheirabilitiesandopportunities，notjusttheirappearance．
TheNFWdevelopedtheprojectmorethanadecadeagotoaddresstheself-esteemproblemsthatmanygirlsexperiencewhentheyenteradolescence．Atschool，boysoftenreceivemoreencouragementintheclassroom，especiallyinmath．scienceandcomputerscience，theacademicfieldsthattendtoleadtothehighestsalaries．Womenreceiveonaverageonly73centsforeverydollarthatmenarepaid．andremainvastlyunderrepresented（数量不足）intopexecutivepositionsandtechnologyfields．TODaimstogivegirlstheconfidenceandinspirationtheyneedtodevelopsuccessfulcareers，particularlyinnon-traditionalfields．
