Formanyyearsislandershavehelpedtheyoungpuffins.EarlyatnightinlateAugustchildrencarryingthickpaperboxesandlightshurrytotheseashoretocatchpuffins.Theyspendmostofthenightrunningafterthebirds.Theyputthebirdsthey’vecaughtinboxesandtakegoodcareofthem.
Thenextmorningthechildrentakethepuffinstotheoceanandsetthemfree.Thebirdswillliveatseauntiltheyareatleasttwoyearsold.Thentheywillreturntothecliffstobuildhomesoftheirownfortheirfamilies.
