terials,chemicalproductsandothermaterialsduetoitshighenergy
efficiency,fineandultra-finegrindingability,andreducedcontam-
ination[1-3].Thecomputersimulationtechniqueforstudyingthe
flowofgranularassembliesorpowdersisusefulespeciallyforob-
tainingdetailedresultsfromthetaskinthatdirectexperimentation
isdifficult.DEMisaschemetosimulateanyproblemdealingwith
thebehaviorofadiscontinuousparticlesystembyCundall[4],who
firstusedthistypeofmodeltostudygranularassemblies.Since
then,thesemodelshavebecomewidelyappliedtothesimulation
ofadiscontinuousparticlesystem[5].Manykindsofsimulations
fortheballmillhavebeenstudied:the3-dimensionalbehaviorsof
ballmovementinatumblingmill[6,7],thepowerofatumbling
mill[8,9],andthepowerofacentrifugalmill[10].However,upto
now,therehasbeenlittlesimulationresearchforstirredgrinding
mediamill.Inthestirredballmill,therearesomestirrersandthe
calculationofitsconsumedpowderbecomesmorecomplicatedto
comparewiththesimplerkineticsofconventionaltumblingball
mill[11,12].
Theobjectiveofthispaperistosimulatethemotionofgrinding
mediaballsinstirredgrindingmediamillandtoexaminethecon-
sumedpowerbasedonthemicrointeractiveforcesatallthecontact
pointsbetweenballsandbetweenballandstirrer.
