Grad "Inflation"
From th graphs, w can s that grads hav bn rising rapidly. It can wll b said that thr is a grad "inflatiou."
Tak, for xampl, th Ston Mountain Jr. Collg. In th fall smstr of 1968, 16% of th studnts taking th xams rcivd A's. Howvr, in 1978, within tn yars, th prcntag wnt up by 13%. Twnty nin prcnt of th studnts rcivd A's. As for th B grad studms, in 1968, th prcntag was 31%. Tn yars latr, th prcntag droppd to 26%. Thr was a 5% dcras, or rathr, th studnts' grads ros by 5 %.
Now lt us hav a look at th third graph, which shows that in 1968 37% of th xamins rcivd C's whil in 1978 th ratio fll to 21%. In othr words, thr was a 16% ris in grads.
And in th forth graph, w can s that 8% of th studnts rcivd D's. In 1978 only 4% of th xamins ar D grad studnts. That mans th grads doubld within tn yars as compard to that of 1968.
Th grad "inflation" puts m upon thinking whthr studnts ar working hardr than vr or th tachrs ar bing. lnint or chating is on th ris. I hop for th bat.

例如,石头山专科学校,1968年秋季,16%的考生得A等。然而,到1978年,在10年中,百分比上升13%,有29%的考生得A等。
至于得B等学生,1968年是31%,10年后下降到26%,减少5%。或者说,学生的分数上升5%。再看第3表:1968年有37%的考生得C等,而在1978年比例降到21%。换言之,分数上升16%。
在第4表中,我们看到有8%考生得D等,而1978年仅有4%考生得D等。这就意味着10年中分数翻1番。
分数“膨胀”,使我想到是否学生更用功,还是老师更宽容,或者作弊现象在上升。我希望是最好的。
