During th summr vacation, I had a chanc to visit a polic station in ordr to larn somthing about socity. Thr I caught sight of a drug addict①.

That day, I was rading a dossir of a cas② in th offic whn a young man was brought in.

“How old ar you?”a policman askd.

“Nintn,”th man answrd in a low voic.

“How long hav you bn taking drugs?”

“For 3 yars.”

On haring this, I was vry surprisd. Now I knw how h had bcom so thin, so pal and so wak. Drugtaking③ cost him so much mony that h had to stal. As a rsult h was caught.

“Now I raliz I was wrong. I fl I hav lt my mothr down who has bn ill for a long tim and is always worrid about m. But now…I must di. I must di…．”

Nintn is a goldn ag. At this ag h could hav bn at school or in th army or on a farm if h had not takn drugs.
